This is my scratch art. It's where you have a black peice of paper, and instead of drawing with a pencil, you draw with an exacto knife. It can be very difficult because if you screw up on this, there's no correcting it since you've already scratched off the black. I decided to draw this man because tehre was jsut somthing about him that really made me happy. I tried to do a little more twinkle in his eye then the original picture had, and I think it worked out great.
Wow incredible, realistic approach, very good interplay of chiaroscuro, i think someone mentioned that this is beyond a website. Have you tried local galleries? Looking through some of these i saw photographs, not drawings thinking to myself "where does she get uglies like that" honestly caught my eye girl! Good going!
Okay, you're obviously extremely talented, and I agree with anyone who says you could have your work in a gallery, if even one of those semi-temporary local artist ones that sells originals or reproductions.
I love the way old men look. I think it's great that you took it upon yourself to make the picture look how you wanted it to. I know it's really hard to draw in negative(white on black), so I really commend you on this one. You've definitely got my respect with the whole subject and execution of this piece.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
